The course has been designed with four types of audience in mind:

I. Individuals looking to improve their personal career trajectory. Individuals can use the information and methods in this toolkit to make better sense of their work environment. In working through the methods, as a form of professional development, the individual should gain a deeper understanding of how they can make a greater contribution to problem-solving and decision-making in their workplace.

II. Leaders or managers in organisations looking to make sense of, and develop capability to respond to, the strategic and/or operational environment. The tools and methods contained within the toolkit have been designed to guide organisational leaders through a process for evidence-based decision-making and problem-solving in complex management environments.

III. Organisations looking to develop new services for clients or looking to understand their client’s environment, in order to fulfill a role as a trusted advisor (e.g. Certified Public Accountants, Knowledge Managers or consultants). This toolkit provides methods that will enable consulting, advisory, risk management or development teams to bring greater value to existing client services, through enhanced sense-making capability.

IV.  Associations with a Continuing Personnel Development/Education (CPD/E) role or individual educators looking to improve the relevancy of compliance led or ‘soft skill’ training, learning or development programmes
